Restore vitality and joy to your life and work.

You’re the one they rely on.

At work, at home, in your community — you hold it all together. But deep down, you know you’re running on fumes.

The world doesn’t need more burned out women who care. It needs women shining brightly, seeing their own wellbeing not as selfish, but as a birthright.

Because when changemaking women thrive, their impact multiplies.

The Overflow Method is empowering women who care to keep making an impact, without losing themselves in the process.

Learn how to give from abundance, not exhaustion.

After 25 years of working on the frontlines of trauma care in ICUs, emergency wards and her own traumatic injury and bereavement practice Dr Martha Druery discovered something crucial:  she could no longer sustainably help others if she was running on empty.

She developed The Overflow Method to prioritise her own wellbeing, and has been refining it for years. First for herself, then for frontline health workers during Covid, and then with a range of purpose-driven professionals across health, education, law and social justice. Now, she’s bringing Overflow to all women who give endlessly, but rarely pause to refill their own cup.

The Overflow Method is not about coping with burnout – it’s about preventing it altogether.

The method is based on three core principles:

  • Conscious Awareness – Recognise what is draining you and develop healthier alternatives to pushing through.
  • Curiosity – Understand the context of why you are experiencing what is happening, instead of criticising yourself or feeling like something is wrong with you.
  • Compassion – Learn how to respond to yourself with the same kindness and perspective you offer others.

Combining neuroscience, informed self-awareness, and real-world strategies, The Overflow Method offers a practical toolkit to manage stress, build emotional literacy, and reclaim vitality. It teaches you how to calm your nervous system, set boundaries without guilt, and create a personalised and self-care blueprint you will actually use.

You don’t have to burn out to prove you care. Give from abundance and restore vitality and joy to your life.

The Overflow story

Overflow was born out of Dr Martha Druery’s own journey through depletion and recovery. For nearly two decades, Martha worked in public hospitals, providing critical trauma and bereavement care. She then spent another decade in private practice while completing her doctorate and raising her family.

Dedicated to patients and loved ones alike, she gave everything she had — until she lost sight of her own needs. The breaking point came after a harrowing tragedy, when Martha kept saying “yes” to everyone— survivors, families, colleagues, her own family too — until her body finally stopped her.

In that moment of exhaustion, she realised a vital truth: to keep making a meaningful impact, she first had to care for herself.

From this experience, Dr Martha created The Overflow Method — a trauma-informed, science-backed self-care system designed especially for purpose-led women like you to restore vitality and joy to your life and your work.

What women are saying about Overflow…

Martha’s retreat helped me show up more fully for my family, my friends, and my clients.

This day gave me the time and space to explore why I was feeling so exhausted and then identify ways to reinvigorate my work and life.

Martha does such a great job of making everyone feel comfortable,
and the information is priceless.

I’ve made so many small but powerful changes at home and work using the strategies I learned from Martha. Thank you.

Why Do So Many Women Feel This Way?

Research consistently shows that women are far more likely than men to experience burnout. Globally, women carry a “double shift” – balancing paid work with 2.5 times more unpaid care and domestic responsibilities than men. In workplaces, women also face higher job strain, less control, and more exposure to toxic cultures. Add in the emotional toll of caregiving and societal expectations to “keep it all together”, and it’s no wonder so many women feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from themselves. The good news is that burnout is not a life sentence. With the right strategies, you can reset your nervous system, set healthy boundaries, and rebuild your vitality. You can learn to give from overflow.
